This 4 days Rwanda- Uganda gorilla trekking safari takes you to Bwindi Gorilla forest well known for Gorilla trekking in Uganda. Drive through the unwinding hills in rural areas into the home of endangered mountain gorillas. Your safari begins from Kigali urban settings into the village setting of Bwindi impenetrable, this tropical rainforest is a habitat to a variety of primate species. Time permitting take on a community visit is also much amazing to explore the lifestyle of the indigenous people and Kigali Memorial genocide ground where over 25000 Rwandese were buried.

Uganda is a landlocked country in East Africa whose diverse landscape encompasses the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains and immense Lake Victoria. Its abundant wildlife includes chimpanzees as well as rare birds. Remote Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a renowned mountain gorilla sanctuary. Murchison Falls National Park in the northwest is known for its 43m-tall waterfall and wildlife such as hippos.

Day 01

Arrival and transfer to the hotel

Arrival at Kigali International Airport, meet and greet assistance, you will be warmly welcomed by our company staff for briefing about the safaris then introduction to your driver guide. Transfer to Kigali Serena Hotel for check in.

Day 02

Day 2: Kigali City tour and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable NP

Today after taking your early morning breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and drive to visit the Kigali genocide memorial centre, to learn from what happened during the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi whereby 1 million Rwandans were killed in only 100 days. Later after lunch you proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in South Western Uganda.  En-route view of the beautiful scenery, terraced farming to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park home to half of the endangered mountain gorilla. Diner and overnight at your Lodge.

Day 03

Early morning cup of coffee, then prepare for the briefing from the Uganda wildlife officials and thereafter enter the jungle to search the shy mountain gorillas and enjoy their lifestyle in their real home. After meeting the gorillas, you can sit around these great apes for a whole hour gazing into their big round eyes. On a gorilla safari, a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as walking shoes, packed food and mineral water, insect repellent, sunscreen and hut. The gorilla tracking experience takes half or whole days depending on the movement of these primates. After this gorilla tracking experience in Uganda you will have an informative memorable experience in life. In the afternoon ready for a village foot safari to explore the indigenous local life with a taste of the traditional performance. Dinner and overnight at your Lodge.

Day 04

Day 4: Bwindi-Kigali  (Travel Time :5hrs)

Early morning breakfast and short sightseeing experience for photography. Thereafter embark to your safari vehicle and drive back to Kigali. At arrival, you will have lunch and if time allows, depending on your flight time, you will visit the local market to buy souvenirs before being transferred to the airport.

Suggestions on things to bring

GENERAL SAFARI PACKING

  • Bright summer clothes for safari tour (Strong colours can attract unwanted attention from flies found in certain areas of the parks). Laundry is cheap and available, so do not pack much in terms of clothes
  • Fuller clothes for evenings at the hotel and lodge, such as long pants and long-sleeved shirts to protect you against mosquitoes after sunset and, if necessary, against the sun
  • A jacket/sweater, as it can be cool in the early morning and evening
  • Summer Footwear (e.g. sports shoes and cotton socks). Avoid walking on bare feet and or leaving your legs naked at night due to mosquitoes
  • Power adapter with 3-4 sockets – this enables a shaver, trimmer, electric toothbrush and any batteries to be charged via a single adapter
  • Small flashlight and extra batteries
  • Hat that shields against the sun
  • Sunscreen, sunglasses and lip balm
  • A mosquito/insect repellent for example
