In just two days this short tour will bring you up close to an amazing assortment of wildlife. No long advance reservations needed – just say the word and we’ll have you out on your own private safari.

This is a serious tour and we’ll head out early – 05:00 hrs. – to give you the most viewing time at the Mara. As we begin our safari, you’ll enjoy the breaking sunrise lighting up the dramatic Rift Valley escarpment and the legendary Masai plains.

Schedule Details

Day 1

NAIROBI – MASAI MARA  (Appx: 265kms – 5hrs)

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

05:00 hrs. – Your driver/guide will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel, residence or Nairobi airport. Hop into the 4 x 4 Jeep for your journey to the Masai Mara, Kenya’s most popular wildlife park.

Watch the dawn break over the fields from the comfort of your safari vehicle. We’ll make a stop at the town of Narok for breakfast

As we continue to the Mara, you’ll see local homesteads and perhaps Maasai herdsmen in their colorful wraps, tending to their cattle. We should arrive at the park at approximately 10:30 hrs.

Day 2

The wildlife is waiting for us, so we’ll be up early to observe them coming into the new day.

This will be followed by a big safari breakfast at your accommodation. By now you’re beginning to get the feel for the rhythms of the great Mara and its myriad wildlife. We’ll head out on another game drive, tracking for more exciting predators.

While here at the Masai Mara, there are several optional opportunities to enjoy. If you desire, take a visit to the local Maasai people at a nearby village. You’ll learn about their culture and perhaps see some of their ceremonies.

For a soaring experience few get to witness, hop aboard a pre-dawn hot air balloon flight over the park. There’s nothing like watching the land and the wildlife come alive as the day breaks below. This is Africa at its most wondrous. Ask your guide to make arrangements for either or both of these optional tours.

But finally, it’s time to depart the reserve. We’ll take one last game drive as we exit on our way to Nairobi.

Traveling back to the capital city, we’ll stop to refresh and view the great Rift Valley escarpment. Our 2-day adventure has been filled with dramatic moments like this and not soon forgotten.

Suggestions on things to bring

GENERAL SAFARI PACKING

  • Bright summer clothes for safari tour (Strong colours can attract unwanted attention from flies found in certain areas of the parks). Laundry is cheap and available, so do not pack much in terms of clothes
  • Fuller clothes for evenings at the hotel and lodge, such as long pants and long-sleeved shirts to protect you against mosquitoes after sunset and, if necessary, against the sun
  • A jacket/sweater, as it can be cool in the early morning and evening
  • Summer Footwear (e.g. sports shoes and cotton socks). Avoid walking on bare feet and or leaving your legs naked at night due to mosquitoes
  • Power adapter with 3-4 sockets – this enables a shaver, trimmer, electric toothbrush and any batteries to be charged via a single adapter
  • Small flashlight and extra batteries
  • Hat that shields against the sun
  • Sunscreen, sunglasses and lip balm
  • A mosquito/insect repellent for example
  • Nail clippers and file
